One of my very first job assignments was to write an article about model railroading for Hobby Outlook - an online hobby focused publication. I’ve never built a layout myself, but I admire the people that do. The science behind it is propelled by more than just the idea of a train on a track. It is based on so many different things. I always find that I am enamored by the scenery - I find it charming and can’t resist taking hundreds of photos. I suppose I’ve filled far too many memory cards hoping to catch a train at the right moment.
I don’t know if I’ll ever have the patience to build one, but I tip my hat to those that have.
